PURPOSE: To publicly recognize annually an individual who has throughout their lifetime
unselfishly given of themselves in the spirit of caring, love and concern for mankind.
ELIGIBILITY: The individual has demonstrated the giving of their time and talents through volunteer service for the well-being of others, our community and the Clothes Less Traveled Thrift Shop during the annual qualifying period of November — October.
CRITERIA: The HEART OF THE COMMUNITY AWARD annually recognizes an individual who demonstrates actions and behaviors that truly exemplifies a “servant’s heart” in all areas of life. A lifetime of service to others demonstrated professionally and personally by unseifishly volunteering in civic groups, corporations, local businesses, schools, churches, non-profits and other types of community outreach and volunteer service organizations. This individual is respected by their peers for their commitment to service above self in the spirit of caring, love and concern for mankind.
SELECTION: The Clothes Less Traveled Board of Directors will select the HEART OF THE COMMUNITY AWARD winner in October. The winner will be announced at the annual Volunteer Appreciation Dinner.
REWARDS: The recipient of this highly prestigious award will receive a $100.00 gift item, a personalized apron, vest or hat, recognition in the CLT newsletter and have their name and photo placed on a plaque prominently displayed at the shop. if the individual is not a current Board Member eligible for the Board of Director’s annual gifting privilege, recognition will include nominating a qualified 501(c)3 non-profit organization to be a potential grant recipient of $3,000 at the annual gifting celebration in December.
