Celebrating 25 Years of Giving

Nonprofit Chairty Thrift Shop Giving Back for 25 Years to Fayette and Coweta Counties

Clothes Less Traveled, a nonprofit thrift shop located in Peachtree City, celebrated its 25th anniversary with a community day and nonprofit fair on Saturday, June 11.

Shoppers enjoyed discounts, as well as music, door prizes, food, and family-friendly activities. In addition, the store hosted representatives from nearly 20 nonprofits.

From the outset, the mission of Clothes Less Traveled has been to sell donated items and use the proceeds to give back to the community, most often through grants to local charities and scholarships to high school seniors. Many of grant recipients had staff members or volunteers on-hand to talk about the ways their nonprofit impacts the community, including Fayette County based organizations, such as Bloom, ClearWater Academy, ExceptionalOPS, Fayette Humane Society, Fayette Senior Services, The Joseph Sams School, Safe Kids Fayette County, Southern Conservation Trust, and St. Vincent de Paul.

“It’s amazing to realize that we have been able to give away more than $7.5 million in the last 25 years, thanks to the community members who donate and purchase clothing and other items,” said Chief Impact Officer Kimber Huff. “Our staff and volunteers love knowing that we are empowering change in a variety of ways through such diverse grantee partners.”
